Happy Thanksgiving

Feeling thankful? The holidays have a way of making us reflect on all we have to celebrate when it comes to the ones that mean the most. Whether you’re getting together with your family this holiday or doing a simple gathering with newfound friends, using this time to make new memories with those near and dear can be just as fulfilling for you as it is for them.

Here are some ways to celebrate with those you appreciate:

Make a Meal of Memories

Thanksgiving is often centered around enjoying a great meal. Still, some of the most cherished memories can happen when preparing it—and helping is a great way to show your gratitude for the delicious dinner ahead. Whether you’re gathering at your house or a friend or family member’s, start planning the menu and ingredients it will take to make it all happen and try to get everyone involved, from the fun appetizers and desserts to the main course.

Get in the Game

If you’re all about football, Thanksgiving Day games are the matchups to remember and are an easy way to get everyone in the same place at the same time. Show your appreciation for your favorite fans - and friendly rivals - by getting them to gather around for the best kind of screen time.

Savor Storytime

When it comes to holiday gatherings, perhaps nothing is more fun than storytelling. Use this special holiday time to reflect and reminisce on the fun times you’ve shared together or apart. Better yet, bring or take out some old photos to prompt some of your favorite memories. It’s a fun time for all ages as older family members or friends might love having the spotlight while younger generations can’t help but take it all in.

Act on Activities

Holiday-themed activities are a great way to bond and make memories that can be shared, used or even gifted throughout the season. From family collages and friendly scrapbooks to homemade ornaments, fun crafts or activities can help to get everyone in the holiday spirit, while giving them something to do before or after dinner. Looking for something a little less involved? Games like charades or even cards are things that everyone can participate in and enjoy.

However you plan on spending your Thanksgiving holiday, remember that gratitude can have a positive impact on your health and that of your loved ones, so take some time to consider all that you appreciate in life and just give thanks. You’ll be so glad you did.

Happy Thanksgiving from the GA Foods Family!
